Sample Itineraries for 14-day 13-night Programme

For schools intending to include enrichment programmes in their overseas travel plans, Singapore offers a wide variety of educational experiences, in both classroom as well as outdoor settings. Here is a sample programme.

Day 1
A warm welcome to the Lion City!  Check into the accommodation that will be your home away from home for the next two weeks.  Your adventure has just begun!

For the next 2 weeks, you will have a combination of classroom sessions, group interactive activities, and excursions to local attractions.

Day 2
Settle in to your first day of school enrichment programmes.

In the afternoon, a tour guide will give you your first introduction to Singapore's city centre. From the historical Civic District to the towering buildings in Shenton Way, the city is abuzz with activity as everyone goes about their business.

Take a leisurely boat cruise around the harbour and learn about the historical lifeline of the Singapore River.

Day 3
Language lessons commence again in the morning.

Experience Singapore's cultural heritage at the Chinatown Heritage Centre. Located in the heart of Chinatown, it takes you back in history to the time when Chinese immigrants settled in Singapore and the struggles they faced.

Find out more about Chinese opera - its history, the portrayal of different characters, the art of applying the make up, and more.

Day 4
After language lessons in the morning, continue your cultural exploration.

Little India, intense with the aroma of spices and the swirl of colourful sari fabric, forms the backdrop for an afternoon of discovery into the life of the Indian community in Singapore.

The last stop for the day - Malay Village where the museum and re-creation of a kampong house brings you a taste of the past.

Day 5
Spend a day on the island of Sentosa. Learning moves to the outdoors with enriching excursions that take you round the island.

Soak in history at the Images of Singapore, a historical display of the pioneers of early Singapore. Be dazzled by the dancing waters of the musical fountain, and watch the dolphins at play in the Dolphin Lagoon.

Enjoy a unique experience - camp overnight at Underwater World, an oceanarium where you can see varieties of marine life.

Day 6
It's games on the beach in the morning.

In the afternoon, return to the main island and spend some time at the Singapore Discovery Centre.  Find out about some of the key developments of Singapore as a nation state. Use your worksheets as you move around the various exhibits. Have some fun - watch a 3-D movie and enjoy a simulator ride.
