 The National Library Board (NLB) operates 39 public libraries and 1 National Library around Singapore, providing a vast information resource of books, periodicals, videos, CD-roms and other materials. Equipped with the latest technology, online catalogues, electronic databases, and other services are readily accessible at all times.
Besides the community and regional libraries offering a general collection of books, the library@esplanade boasts a distinctive collection of arts-focused materials, including musical scores, DVDs and audio CDs.
Singapore's only National Library -Lee Kong Chian Reference Library houses a collections of over 500,000 items in various formats to serve the research and information needs of researchers, professionals and general public. It also offers on-site advisory service for research assignments, business ventures and personal interests. Most universities and polytechnics operate their own campus libraries with generous collections providing academic and professional resource on specialty subjects offered by the institutions. The National University of Singapore run the only medical library in Singapore. Some private schools also have their own library facilities. |
